
As Spring Festival approaches, the Hainan Tourism Association has joined major service providers across the province to launch a series of travel promotions covering tour routes, scenic area packages, hotel offers, and more. The initiative aims to meet the diverse needs of different consumer groups while also raising the standard for vacation offerings across the island.

Travel agencies have launched several exclusive Spring Festival tours including the ‘Haikou Is So Much Fun’ in-depth tour combining cultural heritage, pop science, and duty-free shopping. The Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park Scenic Highway sightseeing bus service now has limited-time special fares for trips along the island’s tropical coastal highway. Three limited-edition themed routes for the Year of the Horse connect multiple cities and counties across Hainan, and the ‘Kapok Flowers in Bloom’ one-day tour allows travelers to appreciate the spectacular spring scenery of bright scarlet kapok flowers.
Many of Hainan’s scenic areas are offering sizable discounts. At Baishiling Scenic Area, visitors born in the Year of the Horse or whose names contain the Chinese character “马” (horse) can enjoy free admission upon presenting valid identification at the visitor center ticket office. Wuzhizhou Island in Sanya has set up food trucks to give travelers new culinary options and is also offering a special package that includes a boat ticket, a round-island shuttle tour and a ‘City Walk’ experience at a special early-booking price of RMB 265. Sanya’s Dongtian Park has launched a variety of discount packages, including a ‘Super Yacht Tour to Nanshan’ experience, providing travelers with a wide variety of travel and entertainment options. Boundary Island is offering Hainan residents a complimentary performance ticket with the purchase of an entrance and boat ticket. A limited flash-sale promotion will be available from February 20 to 26.

A variety of themed activities will further enrich the holiday atmosphere. Hainan Tropical Wildlife Park and Botanical Garden has launched the ‘Welcoming the Spring Festival with Adorable Horses’ themed event, featuring a Year of the Horse science carnival, horse-themed parades delivering Spring Festival blessings, and hands-on DIY workshops. Dongpo Old Wharf in Haikou has created a Song-style cultural experience including all-day entertainment with live performances, folk shows, blessing ceremonies, red envelope-themed interactive activities, and immersive garden experiences. Changying Wonderland Park is hosting the ‘Changying Food Time - First Guochao Intangible Cultural Heritage Temple Fair’, combining a New Year goods market, intangible cultural heritage displays, folk custom experiences, and live performances to create an immersive Spring Festival temple fair atmosphere. Hainan Shenchong Coastal Tourism Resort is offering a special-value park pass granting access to all recreational areas and Spring Festival experience programs within the park. Visitors can also check out filming locations featured in the popular reality show The Inn.
The hotel sector is also rolling out special offers. Coral Hotel Sanya Wuzhizhou Island and Nanshan Leisure Seaview Hotel have one-stop packages combining accommodation, dining, and scenic experiences. Hainan Guest House offers a ‘Welcoming the Year of the Horse’ holiday package along with special dining promotions. Boao State Guesthouse has introduced a Year of the Horse spring campaign, offering guests complimentary access to several themed activities, and Mission Hills Resort Haikou has unveiled a series of exclusive packages covering a wide variety of services.
In addition to these promotions, scenic areas throughout the province are equipped with complimentary drinking water, rest areas, and emergency medical kits, ensuring visitors enjoy a safe, comfortable, and worry-free Chinese New Year holiday.
