According to Haikou Customs, Hainan’s airports served a total of 2.644 million inbound and outbound travelers in 2025, up 27.2% over the previous year. A total of 17,907 aircraft arrived and departed the province, a year-on-year increase of 17.4%.

In 2025, a total of 92 international and regional passenger air routes were in operation through Hainan’s airports, including 37 newly added routes. These include a Sanya - Prague route — the first seventh-freedom of the air route in China, two fifth-freedom of the air passenger routes, and four international routes that include domestic connections.
The route network covers several core regions such as Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, Europe, and Oceania, strengthening the ‘air bridges’ connecting the Hainan Free Trade Port to the world.
