From September 25 to 28, a delegation organized by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports of Hainan Province participated in the 2025 Japan Tourism Expo in Nagoya. Featuring a range of off-season and diversified tourism options, the Hainan exhibition booth stood out at the event, presenting the island's unique appeal to the global travel industry and Japanese visitors alike.

On the main stage of the China Pavilion, Hainan's Tourism Promotion Ambassadors highlighted the island's "sports + ecology" experiences, introducing signature activities such as "coastal golf" and "deep-sea coral diving."

The Japan Tourism Expo is one of the most influential events in the global travel industry and the largest and most prestigious professional tourism trade fair in Asia. At this year's event, Hainan's tourism authorities partnered with local enterprises to host on-site promotions and interactive activities. One of the highlights was a presentation titled "Private Hot Spring Wellness in Tropical Rainforests, an Experience Even More Relaxing than Hokkaido," which captured the attention of many Japanese visitors.

Japanese buyer Hiroki Tanaka commented: "Hainan offers an exciting combination world-class golf courses, luxury hotels, and warm winter sunshine. When the weather gets colder in Japan, we will definitely head to Hainan."

Hainan has launched direct flights between Tokyo and Haikou this year, as well as between Osaka and Haikou. It plans to further increase flight frequency to better serve the needs of both leisure and business travelers. Efforts are also underway to open a direct route between Hainan and Sapporo, Hokkaido, within the year, further strengthening the growing air bridge between Hainan and Japan.
