Asian U18 Men's Volleyball Championship to Be Held in Haikou in July

Recently, the Asian Volleyball Confederation announced that Haikou, the capital of China's southernmost province of Hainan, has secured the hosting rights for the 2026 Asian U18 Men's Volleyball Championship. The event will be held from July 12 to 18 at the Wuyuanhe Sports Center in Haikou.

As one of the highest-profile events in Asian youth men's volleyball, the competition will bring together young athletes, coaches, technical officials, and media representatives from various Asian countries and regions in Hainan, showcasing achievements in the development of youth volleyball in Asia.

The Asian U18 Men's Volleyball Championship, organized by the Asian Volleyball Confederation, has served as an important platform for cultivating youth volleyball talent and fostering competitive exchanges in Asia since its inception in 1997.

After being recommended by the China Volleyball Association and comprehensively evaluated by the Asia Volleyball Confederation, Haikou successfully obtained the hosting rights for the 2026 event.

It is expected that 16 teams will participate in this year's competition, including those from China, Japan, South Korea, Iran, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Pakistan, and Kazakhstan. During the event, young athletes from diverse cultural backgrounds will compete and strengthen their friendships on the court, fully showcasing the spirit of unity, cooperation, and positivity among Asian youth.

In recent years, Hainan has continued to attract and host various international sports events as it actively develops itself into an international tourism consumption center and a national sports tourism demonstration zone, enhancing its international visibility and influence.

The hosting of the Asian U18 Men's Volleyball Championship in Haikou not only provides a platform for competitive exchange among Asian youth athletes but also serves as an important window to showcase the latest progress in the Hainan Free Trade Port's development, the city's open image, and the charm of its sports culture to the international community.

The Haikou Municipal Bureau of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports stated that it hopes to use the event to deepen cultural exchanges and sports cooperation among countries and regions in Asia and promote broader communication and collaboration in sports, tourism, and culture between Hainan and Asian countries.
