Twenty years ago, Dmitry, from Russia, came to Sanya and fell in love with Hainan. Now, he and his wife run an import grocery in Dadonghai, Sanya. The shelves are stocked not only with cheese from the Netherlands and sausages from Germany, but also with Hainan coconut oil. This small shop not only soothes the homesick taste buds of many Russian tourists, but also serves as a warm haven connecting Eastern and Western cultures.

For Dmitry, Hainan has been home for a long time. His little shop’s story is a vivid microcosm of Hainan's openness, inclusiveness, and abundance of opportunities.
