On October 12, 35 content creators from around the world arrived at Yanoda Rainforest Park in Baoting Li and Miao Autonomous County for a special excursion featuring everything from rock climbing in hidden valleys to the “Tarzan’s Adventure” Challenge. By the end of the day, they had visited nearly a dozen incredible tropical landscapes and filled their cameras and brains with happy memories.

“It's incredible. Everywhere I look, my eyes are full of green leaves and trees!” From the moment they entered the tourist site, as the International Tourism Ambassadors found themselves suffused in the verdant rainforest environment, there was little to be heard but expressions of amazement coupled with the click of camera shutters. As many of the content creators had never before visited the rainforest, they took the chance to change into waterproof shoes and safety helmets for a challenging streamside climb.

Within moments of starting the upstream hike, the cool mountain water had provided relief from the tropical heat and provided the necessary energy and impetus to keep moving forward. Obscured by the giant leaves of old growth trees, Hainan's bright yellow sun had turned into a dappled pattern of light and dark that practically demanded to be photographed. “Living in urban environments, we don't get to see this kind of dense green forest very often,” said American Gavin Cooley as he recorded his surroundings.

Getting ahead of the group for a bit, Malaysian travel influencer Lim Shi Yu excitedly turned back in order to encourage the other content creators on the trip to “check out what's ahead” As someone who loves the great outdoors, she's visited a number of similar today tourist sites in her home country, including high altitude walks, slides, and other exciting activities. When being interviewed, Ms.Lim said “many people, when they come to Hainan, they only know the surface stuff, they don't know the island's treasures.” As a visitor from southeast Asia, although she knows more about Hainan than many people who don't have friends and family that call the island their ancestral home, she finds that most people only know it as the place their parents’ parents came from. They don't know about it's natural beauty or cultural charm. Now, as an International Tourism Ambassador, she hopes that she will be able to share the island's charm and beauty to more people, let them know the delicious food, the profound culture, and the fascinating sites that force a person to put their phone down and live in the moment.
