On October 10, a group of 35 vloggers, bloggers, and photographers from 18 countries and regions arrived in Haikou for the Hainan Cultural Tourism Content Creation Tour for International Content Creators.

“I've already planned out the Instagram post I’m going to make about Hainan’s ocean sports. I’m looking forward to that,” said Hong Kong influencer Zhu Baoyan with a smile. “Prior to my departure for Hainan, I researched a lot of related content. Since getting here, I’ve also been taking loads of photos as I don’t want to miss anything.”

With the island’s ubiquitous coconut palms and the Li ethnicity style decorations forming the “Hainan themed” backdrop for everyone’s posts, Zhu Baoyan wasn’t the only content creator to begin recording the moment the airplane landed.

“Hainan is a very chill place. Since landing, the vibe has been so relaxed. I'm looking forward to trying local snacks!” Speaking fluent Mandarin, Australian Josh Reid shared his first impression.

In order to help attendees quickly become islanders, organizers prepared local-style welcome gifts such as the loudly patterned ‘island wear’ shirts, the fluffy mascot ‘Velvet Island’, Zaopocu Vinaigrette-flavored instant noodles, portable handheld fans, and a Hainan culture and tourism guidebook.

“I love them all! The fridge magnets incorporating coconut shells are very creative. I plan to eat the Zaopocu Vinaigrette-flavored instant noodles for a snack this afternoon,” said Siman from Macao. No stranger to the island province, he’s traveled here with his family on many prior occasions. “I believe this trip will bring me many new experiences. In the future, I want to compose a song for Hainan and give people a musical way to learn more about it.

All of the attendees are excitedly waiting for the trip to start. From October 11 to the 15th, they will pick up their cameras, turn on their microphones, and travel from Haikou to Baoting, Lingshui, and Sanya. In exploring Hainan's cultural and tourism charm from an international perspective, people from all over the world will be better able to see the "authentic" Hainan.
