As part of Hainan’s ongoing quest to explore the infinite possibilities of future transportation and green and sustainable development, the 7th World New Energy Vehicle Congress (WNEVC) will be held in Haikou, Hainan from September 27-29, 2025. This year’s event is themed ‘Industrial Transformation and Sustainable Development’, with representatives from the government, industry, academia, and research circles around the world invited to engage in dialogue and exchanges, build consensus, strengthen global cooperation, and together achieve the goal of carbon neutrality.

In order to popularize new energy vehicles, accelerate market penetration, and promote NEV sales, a total of twenty conference activities as well as NEV science lectures, technology & science exhibitions, and other events are planned during the congress.

Haikou Wormhole Library NEV Science Lecture Hall Grand Opening

As part of the event, a NEV science lecture will be held at 14:30 on the afternoon of September 28 at Haikou’s Wormhole Library. Lu Ruigang, director of the Science Popularization Culture and Communication Department of the China Society of Automotive Engineers, will give the first lecture of the new semester on "The Brilliance of Chinese Vehicles", describing the historical origins of vehicles in China, the country of ten thousand chariots, as well as the nation’s cutting edge vehicle technologies, the rapid development of the industry, and more. Through vivid storytelling, interactive communication, and other methods, he will lead the audience through the development history of vehicles in China, allowing them to feel the power of the scientific spirit, and show them the latest cutting-edge scientific and technological achievements of China's automobile industry in the fields of new energy and smart technologies.

New Energy Vehicle Technology and Science Exhibition

The total exhibition area covers 10,000 square meters, bringing together more than 50 global new energy vehicle companies, including Deep Blue Auto, Volkswagen, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota, SAIC Motor, the GAC Group, CAR Inc., Hainan Haima, Haosi Power, Wuxi Xingquli, Hikvision Zhilian, and new energy industry chain companies located in Tongliang District, Chongqing. Displays will include a wide variety of popular NEV models as well as cutting-edge technologies and products such as power batteries, drive motors, automotive electronic controls, intelligent chassis, high-level autonomous driving, automotive chips, and integrated components.

The Technology and Science Exhibition is open to the public and free of charge. All are welcome to visit and learn about the new development trends of new energy vehicles and check out for themselves the latest cutting-edge technologies and new low-carbon lifestyles.
