From September 19th to the 21st, the 2022 China-ASEAN Expo Tourism Exhibition was held at the Guilin International Conference and Exhibition Center in South China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

Co-sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the government of the autonomous region, this year’s exhibition attracted more than 300 institutions and enterprises from nearly 50 countries and regions, and over 20 Chinese provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities.

With the theme of "All the sun, all the fun", the Hainan Pavilion—covering an exhibition area of 150m²—featured highlights of the free trade port such as the information about offshore duty-free policies. Other key categories of Hainan products on display were tourism products such as oceans and beaches, medical tourism and health care, sports, culture, rural living, and destination weddings.

At the exhibition—via the medium of the island’s characteristic culture and food—visitors to the Pavilion were able to experience Hainan's unique tropical landscape and ethnic customs (including the bamboo pole dance) and displays of local products (such as Baisha Green Tea and Mushan Coffee).

On January 1st of this year, the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP) came into effect. One week later—on January 8—the Hainan Provincial Government promulgated a twenty-item action plan for local implementation of the RCEP.

Per an introduction by a representative of the provincial Department of Tourism and Culture, Radio, Television and Sports, Hainan—seizing opportunities for further implementing the RCEP —participated in this year’s CAEXPO to show domestic and foreign exhibitors and visitors the achievements which have already been made in the construction of the FTP and the image of an international tourism consumption center, promoting the overall recovery and sustainable development of the tourism market.
