A delegation from China’s southern Hainan province is attending the 2022 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) in the country’s capital city of Beijing in order to showcase the progress that has been made on the island and to set up further international business cooperation.

One of the most important platforms for China to enhance global cooperation and exchanges, the 2022 CIFTIS is being held at the China National Convention Center and Shougang Park in Beijing from August 31 to September 5. [Photo: Hao Zhao / Xinhua]

The tropical province of Hainan set up a 100-square-meter large pavilion at the Fair to illustrate the advantages of the island’s preferential free trade policies. Information on innovative development as well as investment opportunities in the deep sea, aerospace, Nanfan science & technology, education, health care, duty-free shopping and other major industries in the province is available at the pavilion. (Translator’s note: Nanfan refers to a method of breeding and seed selection of summer crops in south China after the autumn harvest is complete in the northern regions.) Meanwhile, the pavilion also features some of the key industrial parks on the island, including Wenchang International Aerospace City, Sanya Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City, Haikou Fullsing Internet Industrial Park, and the Sanya TCM Hospital.

During this period, the Hainan delegation will also participate in the global services trade summit, forums, promotional conferences, business talks, and an assortment of other activities at the Fair along with delegations from more than 70 countries and international organizations from around the world.
