A few days ago, the artist Han Yi, who has lived in Sanya for a long time, saw a photo of the medical teams from all over the country coming to Hainan to fight the pandemic and was deeply touched by their support. In their honor, he created a traditional Chinese painting called Farewell.

"Our lives are not on pause. These medical workers are in an intense race against time every day," said Mr. Han. The artist has created five pandemic themed paintings in recent days, which have received great praise.

Before retiring, Han Yi was honored by several institutions, and after retirement, he moved all the way south to Hainan. He has lived in Sanya for 10 years now, and has become a special professor at the Sanya Technician College of Hainan. He explained: "I am a new Hainanese now, I love this place."

No one is an outsider when facing the pandemic. Han Yi said that although he is retired and cannot fight on the front line of the pandemic, he can use his work to convey Sanya's determination to fight and defeat the pandemic.

He painted the heartwarming moment when a medical worker bowed down to give a Covid-19 test to a resident sitting under the shade of bougainvillea flowers and palm trees, and portrayed the confidence and responsibility of the medical staff wearing straw hats on the front line to fight the pandemic.

"Art is a creation from my heart. If you have true feelings in your heart, you can express them with your brush." Han Yi expresses his appreciation for the heroes of the fight against the pandemic through his themed paintings.
