Vietnam's Jan-June Fertilizer Exports Exceed 2021 Whole-Year Export Value

Vietnam disclosed that its fertilizer exports in the first half of this year have exceeded that of the full year of 2021. In June, Vietnam's chemical fertilizer export volume reached 217,000 tons, a month-on-month increase of 64%; the export value was US$147 million, a month-on-month growth of 68%. The export volume of chemical fertilizers totaled 998,000 tons from January to June, a year-on-year increase of 43%; the export value was US$647 million, a year-on-year increase of 2.8 times. In 2021, Vietnam exported nearly 1.4 million tons of fertilizers, earning US$559 million in foreign exchange.

Laos Plans to Build Over 20 Hydropower Stations

Laos plans to build more than 20 hydropower stations in the next eight years to further consolidate its position as the largest power exporter in Southeast Asia. The Ministry of Energy and Mines of Laos predicts that by 2030, the hydropower stations in the country will increase to 100, and the output will reach 28,000 MW, of which 20,000 MW will be exported. Currently, Laos mainly exports electricity to neighboring countries such as Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia. Compared with other Southeast Asian countries that often experience power supply shortages, Laos has an impressive power output capacity, and some media outlets have even called it the “Battery of ASEAN.”

Thailand Launches ‘Odorless’ Durian
