On the January 17, a delegation made up of more than 30 leaders of well-known multinationals started an investigation activity in Haikou. Their first destination is the Haikou National Hi-tech Zone Management Center of Mei'an National Science and Technology New Town. "Among the 11 key parks in the Hainan Free Trade Port, the Hi-tech Zone is the only national-level hi-tech zone in the province and the only zone covering the three pillars of tourism, modern service and high-tech industry," said the guide during an introduction to the multinationals' representatives.

At the symposium, the multinationals' representatives and members of the Haikou National Hi-tech Zone enjoyed deep discussions and exchanges on core policies including zero tariff, low tax rate, and simplified taxation rules, and on the development of the FTP.
Special Promotion and Exchange Symposium on the Hainan Free Trade Port
At the Special Promotion and Exchange Symposium, Yin Libo (Hainan Department of Industry and Information Technology, Director) said “the 3+1 industrial pattern (of high-tech, modern service, tourism, and also high-efficiency agriculture with tropical characteristics) is key to the development of the Hainan Free Trade Port, with high-tech having been specifically pointed out in the master plan for the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port. ” Members of the province’s relevant functional departments introduced policy advantages and highlight the progress which has been made so far.

This has given many multinationals a firm impression of the new opportunities which they will have by coming to Hainan.”
