On November 13, the Starnation Music Festival was held on Wuzhizhou Island, a popular diving and travel destination in Sanya City, where several famous domestic singers made their appearance, singing passionately on the stage facing the sea and giving the audience a musical feast.

Due to the pandemic, the music festival was held online, with the total number of online viewers topping 3.7 million. Sanya’s stunning scenery was also enjoyed by  the domestic audience through the live stream.

This May Day holiday, M_DSK Music Festival was held in Wanning’s Riyue Bay, in Hainan Province. The festival brought together several HIP-HOP artists for two consecutive days of performance, bringing large crowds of music-lovers to Wanning over the May Day holiday.

According to Qunar.com, an online travel agency, during the Wanning M_DSK Music Festival,bookings at Wanning hotels increased 1.47 times compared to 2019 and 2.6 times compared to 2020, and the number of tickets sold to visit local attractions increased 2.3 times compared to the same period in 2020. The figure, to some extent, shows that music festivals can be the new landmarks of a city, and that cultural experiences greatly enrich the local tourism industry. 

In recent years, Hainan's tourism and cultural departments, institutions, and attractions have planned and held all kinds of music events, including festivals and live concerts, so that travelers can enjoy music along with the many beautiful sights dotted across this tropical island province.
