The 2021 China-ASEAN Expo tourism exhibition was held in Guilin, in southwestern China’s Guangxi Province, from October 15 to 17. Many Hainan tourism products and promotions were featured during the exhibition.

In addition to promotional videos and pamphlets showcasing the island’s exceptional natural tourism resources and the preferential policies of the Hainan Free Trade Port, the Hainan booth also featured the creative local cartoon coconut “Bobo Yeah”, who interacted with visitors through Hainan tourism quizzes, games, and lottery activities.

The Hainan booth attracted over 2,000 visitors and gave out more than 8,000 promotional pamphlets, as well as winning the most creative exhibition prize from the Expo committee. This opportunity was a great warm-up for the coming Hainan International Tourism Island Carnival, which will kick off on November 19.

Since ASEAN countries are an important source of inbound visitors for Hainan, this exhibition was a great opportunity for the province to promote itself to the region, and to boost the sustainable development of the China-ASEAN relationship.
