On October 12, 2021, at the Fifteenth Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity, Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park was selected as one of Chinas first national parks.

Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park is located in Hainans central mountainous region, and is the only place in the world where the Hainan Gibbon can be found. It has a biodiversity index comparable to the Amazon Rainforest in Brazil, and is also the only "continental island" tropical rainforest in China. The Park covers over 4,200 square kilometers.

What benefits can the establishment of this new national park bring to the local ecosystem, economy, and society? Find out in our short film below!
