HAIKOU, September 17. /TASS/. China's Hainan will hold a high-level international forum on commercial mediation on September 28-30. According to the "Hainan Daily", the event will take place in the administrative center of the region — Haikou.
The forum's participants will discuss ways of creating a more effective mechanism for international cooperation on mediation, as well as prerequisites for creating favorable international business climate based on the rule of law.
The forum will organize five thematic sections: the discussion's participants will compare the practices of mediation in the countries participating in the Comprehensive Regional Economic Partnership, analyze the mechanisms for resolving international commercial disputes, discuss their development, consider the issues of mediation in the field of intellectual property, as well as the prospects for diversified dispute resolution on Hainan.
Experts from UK, Spain, Switzerland, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, India and other countries will share their ideas. Daniel Giersberger, one of the founders of Swiss University of Lucerne's Law School, will speak at "Current Comparison of International Commercial Dispute Resolution Mechanisms" section on the sidelines of the forum. Danny McFadden, one of the leaders of the London Center for Effective Dispute Resolution, will also take part in this discussion.
In January 2021, the International Mediation Center was established on Hainan. It aims mailnly to provide mediation services for the settlement of commercial disputes and conflicts between enterprises and businessmen, both from China and from foreign countries. Currently, there are 80 specialists from 12 regions of China in the center, as well as from other countries, including UK, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Malaysia, Singapore and US.
