Here you can see tropical agricultural science and technology, rare tropical plants, tropical sea creatures, educational science resources, and a variety of tropical products. Art and culture

Strolling along the streets of Haikou, you can see both historic buildings and modern skyscrapers. It is this inclusiveness that makes the deepest impression on people who visit the city. Haikou’s Historic Qilou Street is just such an attraction, incorporating both the Haikou of yesteryear and a bustling, modern commercial street. Here, you can get a feel for how Haikou must have looked back in the 1920s or 1930s, see Hainan Opera, enjoy local specialty food and tea, and take some beautiful photos.

The “Light Clock Tower” large-scale light show will reappear at the Haikou Clock Tower during the May Day holiday, showing beautiful Haikou city scenes. In the Haikou Exhibition Hall of Intangible Heritage on Zhongshan Road, lion dance handicrafts will be on display, telling the story of the lion dance industry in a tangible way. There’s even an interactive lion dance area, so jump right in and become part of the action!

After entering Mission Hills Movie Town, you will feel like you have somehow traveled back in time. Movie Town’s 300 meter long Nanyang Street is located on the shore, and features 70 buildings with a distinctive South Seas flavor. During the May Day holiday, visitors can experience a dream journey of 2-dimensional movies here on Nanyang Street. There is an Animation Carnival including many animation related products, arcade games, board games, e-sports, and surprise flash parades, so come on out and join in the fun!

At dusk, "containers" flashing with neon light are particularly eye-catching when viewed standing all together. This is the creative Qiaozhongli 24-hour Cultural Block, which integrates fashion, art, culture, and food.

The whole block is made from restored industrial containers standing here and there looking like brightly colored giant Lego blocks accidentally spilled on the floor. Inside, you’ll find an artistic space occupied by a small fair.

When the city’s lights come on, the Haikou Bay bar street comes alive. Bars, Japanese restaurants, Western restaurants and more are all gathered here. Most of these restaurants have open-air areas offering spectacular views of Haikou Bay and iconic Century Bridge.

On the west side of Haikou's Holiday Beach, you’ll find the first Haikou Sand Sculpture Art Festival 2021, with sculptures of people, animals, cars, and more fun and funky shapes rising out of the sandy shore. During the May Day holiday, there will also be a nightly high-visual-impact light show playing on the sand sculptures.
