Hainan FTP Celebrates China Space Day with month-long activities

On April 24, the Hainan Free Trade Port celebrated China Space Day by opening a special space-themed exhibit at the Hainan Museum, located in the provinces capital city of Haikou. The exhibit will remain open for one month.

2021 marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of China's Communist Party, as well as the 65th anniversary of the start of Chinas space flight industry. This years special Hainan FTP space-themed activities include space experts giving science lectures at universities, an exhibition on the construction and achievements of the Wenchang Space Launch Center at the Hainan Museum, and space flight related project discussions & cooperative agreement signing ceremonies.

Since 2016, China has celebrated a national Space Day on April 24, the anniversary of the countrys first successful launch of an artificial satellite, the "Dong Fang Hong I". This years celebrations mark the sixth year of China Space Day, which aims to spread knowledge about space flight and ignite a passion for space exploration in hearts and minds across the country.
