Hainan receives more than 1 million visits during the Qingming holiday

According to the Hainan Tourism Department, during the Qingming holiday, or Tomb-Sweeping Festival, Hainan received 1,237,900 visits, an increase of 160.6% year-on-year, with tourism revenue totaling 1.661 billion yuan, an increase of 464.7%.

A series of activities launched before the festival leveraged Hainan’s “red” (Communist) tourism resources, featuring classic “red” tourism routes, and a “red” tourism photograph exhibition, as well as island-wide hiking, cycling, and RV tours. Additionally, 14 “red” Hainan tour routes have been officially launched on several platforms, attracting travelers from Hainan and elsewhere.
