“It’s my honor to join Boao Lecheng Hope City. I will spare no effort to support it, and I believe we will see more of its potential in the near future,” said Peter Bootsma, the Former Counselor for Health, Welfare, and Sports at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in China. He is now serving as Senior International Officer of the Hainan Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone (Boao Hope City).
More than just a renowned senior international diplomat, Peter Bootsma is also an international health expert equipped with 40 years of experience in medical & health care, international communication, and investment promotion. He stated that since his first visit to Boao Hope City in September 2020, he sensed the vitality of the park. In December of 2020, Peter Bootsma organized a Sino-Dutch healthcare cooperative conference to boost collaboration between the two countries.
Gu Gang, Director of the Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone Administration, said that with its rapid development, Boao Hope City has seen more and more international organizations and pharmaceutical equipment manufacturers interested in future cooperation with Boao Hope City.
As of today, Boao Hope City has established deep partnerships with 60 world-famous pharmaceutical companies, including four-fifths of the world’s top 30 pharmaceutical companies.
Additionally, as of 2020, 130 innovative medical devices that have not yet been put on the Chinese domestic market have been clinically applied in the park, marking the park’s arrival at an advanced international level in the area of medical equipment.
