With Mid-Autumn Festival arriving soon, Hainanese in Malaysia have learned to sing a traditional Hainanese festival song at the Negeri Sembilan Hainan Association, Malaysia.

The activity was organized by the Negeri Sembilan Hainan Association with the goal of bringing Hainanese in Malaysia together to celebrate this traditional holiday of their native land. The famous singer Ms. Mai Eng, a descendant of Wenchang, Hainan coached the performers, who learned to not only sing the traditional Hainanese song, but also to accompany themselves on the ukulele as they expressed greetings and blessings to fellow Hainanese around the world.

There are now 3.9 million overseas Hainanese in over 60 countries and regions scattered all across the globe, and singing this traditional Hainanese festival song is an excellent way for them to pass down their traditional culture to the next generation.
