With the aim to create a comprehensive and international industrial platform, the H! Market exhibition has attracted extensive attention of related institutions from all over the world since the registration of the exhibition started in July 2019. It is reported that among the registered this time, international representatives accounted for 21.25%, film and television development and production companies accounted for 27.56%, publicity and distribution companies accounted for 11.03%. In addition, among them included film and television post-production companies, internet platforms, literary copyright companies, shooting bases and shooting sites representatives, government agencies, and non-profit organizations, etc., all shaping a market exhibition with rich industrial structures.

As this is the debut of the H! Market, the organizing committee specially invited Pascal Diot as a consultant, who was the founder and director of the "Production Bridge" of the Venice Film Festival, and a film market consultant for the Tokyo International Film Festival. Diot has extensive experience in film business cooperation and exploration.

"In May of this year, I learned about this exhibition at the promotion booth of the HIIFF at the Cannes Film Festival. Thanks to the charm of film, the encounter in Cannes brought me to Hainan, even to Asia, for the first time," said Katherine Bautista Bidó, chief executive officer of Hidden Lotus Entertainment Group from the Dominican Republic. The company has created the "Golden Dragonfly" International Short Film Festival in the Dominican Republic, so she also hopes to promote the Dominican film industry and look for cooperation through this platform during the film festival.

"We knew about the HIIFF under the recommendation from a friend. The majors of film research and production are excellent in our school. We hope that our school and university could be better known via the H! Market exhibition, and look forward to having cooperation with more film enterprises, " said John Tarver, an Assistant Professor of film production at the School of Image Arts of Ryerson University in Canada.

It is worth mentioning that many local film and television companies in Hainan also actively participated in the H! Market exhibition. " The film ‘Long Time No See, Long Time to See' has been approved and is about to start shooting. We hope to find the appropriate investors to facilitate the development of Hainan's film and television industry," said Chen Xiao, chairman of Hainan Lejing Film and Television Culture Media Co., Ltd..

There is still a long way to go to cultivate market. Diot indicated that H! Market has just started, and they are willing to take three to five years to cultivate it. According to the introduction, H! Market will take advantage of the policies about the construction of Hainan Pilot Free Trade Zone and Free Trade Port, improve the structure and layout with more professional industrial thinking, enrich the market sectors, and create a new starting point for the Asian film market.
