A Hungarian-registered Airbus A330-200F freighter recently arrived at the Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP) One-Stop Aircraft Maintenance Industrial Base for a 12-year heavy maintenance inspection. This represents the first aircraft maintenance project for a Hungarian aircraft in the Hainan FTP, further extending Hainan's international aircraft maintenance services.
Grand China Aviation Maintenance Services Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of HNA Technic, is responsible for the maintenance work, which is projected to last about 40 days. The project encompasses all key maintenance areas, including avionics, powerplants, airframe structures, wing assemblies, and cabin facilities.
In accordance with international standards and manufacturer specifications, the team has prepared nearly 900 maintenance task cards.
The project benefits from Hainan FTP policies, which include exemptions from maintenance security deposits and bonded treatment for aviation maintenance materials.
In recent years, backed by the FTP policy framework, Hainan's aircraft maintenance sector has continued to attract international clients, steadily developing a complete aviation services ecosystem while improving its global competitiveness and international reputation.
By the end of June 2026, the Hainan FTP One-Stop Aircraft Maintenance Industrial Base had serviced more than 3,000 aircraft, completed full-aircraft painting for more than 360 aircraft, and repaired 75,000 aircraft components. This included over 200 inbound maintenance and painting projects.
Currently, the base collaborates with more than 50 domestic and international airlines and aircraft leasing companies—including over 30 overseas airlines in Vietnam, Thailand, and Qatar—and has established long-term partnerships. Its quality and technical expertise have gained widespread recognition among airline customers worldwide.
