On May 29, the Hainan Blue Carbon Conference opened in Haikou, welcoming over 300 attendees including a number of international experts and scholars, as well as representatives from government agencies, universities, research institutions, international organizations, foundations, and the business sector.

Under the theme "Green Free Trade Port and New Chapter for Blue Carbon", the conference facilitated exchanges on topics ranging from cutting-edge blue carbon science and technology to standardization systems, international trading, and financial development, with the goal of exploring new paradigms for fostering innovative blue carbon development from a global perspective and accelerating the implementation of international blue carbon cooperation projects.
