This year's lychee harvest is underway in Damao Town, Wanning City. Located within the tropical golden planting belt at 18° north latitude, batches of high-quality lychees grown from here are being exported, leveraging Hainan's unique advantages and mature cross-border supply chains, through a well-established cold chain logistics network to countries and regions such as Canada, the United States, and Dubai. As of now, the total export volume is expected to reach 4,000 tons.

Established just this year as Wanning's core agricultural product export platform, the Hainan Wanfei Agricultural Products Trading Center is building an efficient international supply chain for locally grown lychee. After picking, the fruit is immediately pre-cooled in the cold chain warehouse. It then undergoes manual sorting, grading, and removal of defective fruit before being shipped to Guangdong Province for packaging. It leaves China from Guangdong Province and is quickly delivered to overseas consumers so that the fruit's fresh taste is maintained to the greatest extent possible.

Damao Town boasts abundant sunshine, plentiful rainfall, and mineral-rich soil that combine to produce big, sweet, juicy lychee with clear competitive strength in the international market. In the past, sale of local lychee was constrained to the domestic wholesale market by a short shelf life and logistical issues, and access to the broader international market was hard.

Nowadays, the continuous maturation of cold chain systems and export models is rapidly expanding the global reach of Wanning Lychee. In the future, the local government also plans to promote brand registration and geographical indicator certification with the goal of making Wanning Lychee a household name among Hainan's tropical fruits.
