The Hainan Office of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce (CEEC) in South China was officially inaugurated in Haikou on March 2.
The representative office is the first to be established by an international chamber of commerce in Hainan since the launch of island-wide special customs operations in the Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP) in December last year.

Operating alongside its partner organization, the law firm KTG & Partners, the office will serve as a bridge between the governments, enterprises, and people in Spain and China. It aims to promote business exchanges between Chinese and Spanish enterprises, expand development opportunities in the Indo-Pacific region, and support the construction of the Hainan FTP.
Humberto Álvarez, the Chamber's Hainan representative and a long-time Haikou resident, stated that there is significant potential for deeper cooperation between Spain and Hainan. Leveraging FTP policies, the office aims to provide services for Spanish enterprises investing in Hainan and help cement the province as a preferred destination for international commercial dispute resolution.
