“I sailed across the seas to see you, the coconut trees swaying in the breeze...” “Our mouths and our hearts sing as one, spreading love to all...”

The 18th Congress of the World Federation of Hainanese Associations will be November 14 - 16, 2025, in Penang, Malaysia, bringing overseas Chinese with Hainanese ancestry from the four corners together once again for their reunion. Extending a warm welcome to all delegates, "Suukee, Welcome to Penang" is launched as a theme song for the congress. In the Hainanese dialect of Chinese, "suukee" means "neighbor," and is used by people of Hainanese ancestry globally as greeting and symbol of mutual belonging.
