On the afternoon of Dec. 23, the 2023 (24th) Hainan Island Carnival Intangible Cultural Heritage Parade was held at Haikou’s Historic Qilou Street. The parade featured 11 national and province level intangible cultural heritage performance teams from Yunnan, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Sichuan, and other provinces, as well as Haikou, Qionghai, Lingao, Qiongzhong, and other parts of Hainan, giving audiences a thrilling glimpse into the many heritage arts of China. In addition, there were also opportunities to give several of the arts a try, learning firsthand how these incredible crafts are made. Melissa, from Russia, came to watch the intangible cultural heritage parade and also got involved in making some of the crafts herself. Watch the video to join in the fun!
