Three Years of Firsts for Hainan ①:The first overseas aircraft bonded maintenance assignment

By / HICN / Updated: 18:25,01-June-2023

On June 1, 2020, the Overall Plan for the Construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port (the Master Plan for Hainan FTP ) was published. The Plan states that by 2025, a free trade port policy system focusing on free trade and investment facilitation will be initially established on Hainan Island, with island-wide independent customs operations to commence in due course.

Over the past three years, the core policy dividends of the Hainan Free Trade Port have gradually come to fruition, welcoming many global "firsts" to Hainan and demonstrating the vitality of Hainan FTP construction.

To mark the third anniversary of the release of the Hainan FTP master plan, Hainan International Media Center has created the poster series "Three Years of Firsts for Hainan". A new poster introducing the unique policy advantages of the Hainan Free Trade Port, with a focus on “firsts”, will be released daily starting June 1.

The first overseas aircraft bonded maintenance assignment

On January 12, 2021, Grand China Aircraft Maintenance Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of HNA Technic, provided high-level regular inspection and maintenance for an Airbus A320 operated by Cambodia’s Lanmei Airlines.

Policy Interpretation

The "zero-tariff" policy for raw and auxiliary materials applies to overseas aircraft (including parts) that are repaired in the Hainan FTP. The policy exempts these aircraft and the parts used to repair them from import duties, import value-added tax, and consumption tax.
