In the harbor on Sanya's Yazhou Bay, a vast number of fishing boats can be seen bobbing up and down on the waves, moored neatly shoulder to shoulder. On land, a stone's throw away, stands an eye-catching building in yellow and blue. This is phase one of the newly renovated Yazhou Central Fishing Harbor Aquatic Products Trading Center, which has been recently completed. It is also the largest recreational fishing trading center in Hainan Province.

In this brand-new commercial complex where fishing and tourism collide, visitors can learn about marine culture, buy recreational fishing products, snatch up the catch of the day, and enjoy a seafood feast.

"We plan to start trial operations in June this year and officially open with a fishing festival on August 16," said Zhao Lei, General Manager of Sanya Yazhou Bay Agriculture and Fishery Development Co., Ltd. "The renovation of the Yazhou Central Fishing Harbor Aquatic Products Trading Center is divided into two phases. The building itself covers about 10,000 square meters."

Phase one includes a tourist shopping center on the first floor. The shopping center will offer a range of stores and attractions, such as the marine culture creativity and exhibition center, a recreational fishing products store, a Japanese sashimi experience store, a dry and wet aquatic goods store, and a Hainan specialty snack bar. Up on the fourth floor is a medium-high-end dining and reception area, where the best and freshest local seafood can be savored. The restaurant offers six luxury private rooms, a dining room with over 1,000 square meters of floor space, and a rooftop dining area.

Offerings on the second and third floors are geared towards a younger demographic, with restaurants, bars, interactive entertainment, marine science exhibits, and stalls selling specially crafted marine-themed souvenirs.

"The trading center used to be where traditional fishmongers sold and packaged their wares. Now, following renovations, it serves as a beacon for the local area, supporting locals in making more money and linking main residential areas and tourist attractions such as Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City, Nanshan Temple, and Fairyland Park to create new entertainment complexes and places for tourists to visit," Zhao Lei revealed.
