This year’s 7th tropical storm, Mulan, made landfall near Xuwen, Guangdong Province around noon on August 10th, according to the China Meteorological Administration.
With a maximum wind speed of 23 meters per second, measuring Force 9 on the Chinese wind speed classification system, Mulan is expected to cause heavy downpours in the northwest region of the tropical island of Hainan and the southwest parts of Guangdong Province over the next day.

Hainan Province is still under a Level III Tropical Storm Warning. According to the Hainan Railway Department, round-island high-speed train service as well as train service in the Haikou suburbs have both been suspended on the 10th due to the tropical storm.
