HIMC and KCTV Jeju sign "One City, One Media" Agreement

At 4 pm on May 19, 2022, the Hainan International Media Center (HIMC) and FTP+ Relaunch Ceremony was held at Hainan Broadcasting Station's Haikou HQ.

At the ceremony, Chen Shuhuan, CEO of the Hainan International Media Center (HIMC), and Dai In Kong, CEO of KCTV Jeju Broadcasting Company, signed the "One City, One Media" International Sister City Media Cooperation Agreement online. This marks the official start of the Sister City international communication project, telling the story of the Hainan Free Trade Port with the help of her international sister cities.

Chen Shuhuan, CEO of the Hainan International Media Center (HIMC), and Dai In Kong, CEO of KCTV Jeju Broadcasting Company, signed the "One City, One Media" International Sister City Media Cooperation Agreement online. 

According to the agreement, the partners will strengthen four aspects of exchange and cooperation, including media content, mutual promotion of the columns, media platform sharing & in-depth interaction through various forms of communication, as well as information sharing about Hainan Province and Jeju's tourism and economic development. In order to promote friendship between the people of China and South Korea, the cooperation aims to enhance the comprehensive understanding of the culture of both places, promoting the tourism resources, economic and trade exchanges, and more.

The success of this online agreement shows the mission of the Hainan International Media Center and KCTV Jeju Broadcasting Company to provide a connecting bridge through media and to forge the bond of friendship and spiritual connection between the two peoples, and also highlights the determination of the Hainan International Media Center to build itself into an innovative mainstream media with great leadership, influence and communication capability.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and South Korea, and also the 27th anniversary of the sister provinces relationship between Hainan Province and Jeju Special Autonomous Province. Hainan is an important window of China's opening up to the outside world, and the development of a free trade port with Chinese characteristics in Hainan is a major strategic decision made by the Chinese central government with an eye on both the domestic and international situation, and is being undertaken with in-depth studies, comprehensive consideration, and scientific planning.

The Hainan International Media Center is the major international communication agency of the Hainan FTP. Jeju is the first special autonomous province in S.Korea and is currently working to develop as an international free metropolis and tourist resort center in Northeast Asia.KCTV Jeju Broadcasting Company is the main broadcasting and communication media company in Jeju. The friendly cooperation between the media on both sides will not only further expand mutual cooperation in the fields of culture, tourism, economy, trade, and ecology between Hainan Province and Jeju, but also increase interpersonal exchange and promote the deepening friendship and spiritual connection of two peoples.
