Alongside the 2022 Annual Conference of the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) being held from April 20 to 22 in Bo’ao Town in South China's Hainan province, the Li ethnicity's traditional craft of handwoven brocades is on display at the Boao Forum for Asia Theme Park.

Li Brocade is a unique traditional textile craft which—owing in part to its more than 3,000 years of recorded history—was recently inscribed by UNESCO as a part of the world's Intangible Cultural Heritage. It encompasses the methods by which Hainan's Li people spin, dye, weave and embroider their distinctive form of fabric art.

Having previously been spotlighted at the BFA for several years running, this year the Brocade and how it is made are once again being shown to guests from around the world as a national treasure and representative item of the Li's charming culture.
