During the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday between Sept 19 and 21, Haikou received a total of 272,000 tourists, with a total tourism revenue of 267 million yuan ($41.3 million).
Haikou held rich and lively celebration activities, which attracted many tourists. For example, the city held an on-site concert in Haikou Bay on the night of the Mid-Autumn Festival, inviting pianists and bands to perform for residents and tourists alike.
Traditional scenic spots and high-level scenic spots have become the first choice for Haikou residents and tourists. For example, Wanlv Park received 71,000 tourists during the three-day holiday. The 4A-level tourist attraction Holiday Beach received 52,000 tourists, and Guanlan Lake Resort received 26,000 tourists.
Meanwhile, Haikou's rural tourism also saw a booming market during the holiday. Many residents and tourists chose to drive by themselves for a more personalized and relaxing experience at the rural tourist spots.
