On August 7th, per a notice issued by the Haikou Covid-19 Prevention & Control Command Center,all persons currently on Hainan island who do not have pressing matters requiring their departure are encouraged not to leave. Previous warnings not to go overseas or to travel to domestic medium- and high-risk areas remain in effect. Starting from August 8th, all residents and visitors who must leave the island (either by air or sea) must present a negative nucleic acid test which was taken in the past 48 hours.
