On the morning of August 5th, the Haikou COVID-19 Prevention and Control Headquarters issued a statement that one case was found to have an initial positive nucleic acid test. The patient, Mr. Lin, a 38-year-old man, works at the Meilan International Airport Cargo Company. He resides in Yunlong Town, Qiongshan District, Haikou City. On the afternoon of August 4th, Lin went to the fever clinic at Haikou Fourth People's Hospital because of fever and had a nucleic acid test. At the time of treatment, his temperature was 36.9°C, and he had no cough, chest tightness, or other symptoms. At 2:00 am on August 5th, a positive nucleic acid test result was reported. He has declared no recent history of travel overseas or to domestic medium or high risk areas, and no history of contact with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 cases.
At present, the patient has been sent to Haikou Fourth People's Hospital for quarantine and treatment, and the provincial and municipal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are reviewing a new sample collected early this morning.
