Per the Hainan Covid-19 Prevention & Control Command Center's August 3rd notification, all activities with 300 or more than 300 participants should be postponed. This includes but is not limited to in person conferences and training activities. Before commencing, all in person activities with 50 or more than 50 participants must have a Covid-19 control plan which has been approved by the local (municipal or county level) command center.

Additionally, residents are urged not to leave the island for unnecessary or frivolous matters. They are especially reminded not to visit any medium or high risk areas within China nor to go overseas.

Any person coming to Hainan from overseas must do a “14+7” quarantine with 7 days in home quarantine after they have finished their 14-day centralized quarantine.

Any person coming to Hainan who has visited a medium or high risk domestic region within the past 14 days must undergo a 14-day period of centralized quarantine and nucleic acid testing (NAT).

Any person coming to Hainan whose travel history includes a region with infections must have a negative NAT from within the past 48 hours. For those who can’t provide this, a first NAT (free of charge) will be administered upon arrival in Hainan, and a second NAT (also free of charge) will be administered within 24 hours after arrival. If both results are negative, a 14-day self-isolation period (counting from the day of leaving the areas with infections) is still required.
