Consumer spending has been trending more and more towards high-end products in China and particularly in Hainan in recent years. Luxury and the “affordable luxury” concept is getting more and more popular. However, shoppers still tend to choose big names and famous brands. Swarovski is absolutely in that category.

In this episode of our series of exclusive interviews with the executives and representatives of top brands, hosted by Olga, a well-known Mandarin-speaking bilingual TV host living in China and an HIMC Communication Officer, we had an interview with Judith Sun, Managing Director of Swarovski Crystal Business in the greater China region.

Swarovski’s eye-catching “golden” booth attracted quite a bit of attention at the first China International Consumer Products Expo. Ms. Sun gave an introduction to Swarovski’s highlights and new concepts, including their new, updated logo, a new product Collection, and much more. In 2019, the Chinese market became the brand’s biggest market in the world, and Ms. Sun expressed Swarovski’s confidence in expanding the China and especially the Hainan market, even in this difficult “post-pandemic” time. She also expressed her appreciation of the Hainan Free Trade Port, the island departure duty-free policy, and its positive effects, offering more perspectives on the brand’s future.
