Five guests of honor will appear at the 3rd Hainan Island International Film Festival Masterclasses. The 5 stars are: Wang Xiaoshuai, a Chinese director and screenwriter; Pema Tseden, a Chinese director and screenwriter; Majid Majidi, an Iranian director; Alice Rohrwacher, an Italian screenwriter and director; and Hao Lei, a Chinese actress.

The five will dialog with outstanding young directors and the audiences, sharing their creation experiences both in person as well as online.

Wang Xiaoshuai is a pioneer of Chinese independent film and an internationally renowned film director. He has worked in film for more than 20 years, directed 13 films, and been nominated for three major international film festivals eight times.

Pema Tseden is a Chinese film director, screenwriter writer, and literature translator. He is a member of the China Film Directors' Guild, China Film Association, and Chinese Film Literature Association.

Majid Majidi is an Iranian film director, producer, and screenwriter. He has been nominated for the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film Award, the Golden Bear of the Berlin International Film Festival, the Golden Lion of the Venice Film Festival, and other important international film awards.
