A total of 500 protective suits and 1,500 self-made face shields were donated by a Hainan hospital to the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Guangzhou on March 14 to aid the anti-novel coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic efforts in Iran.
As the COVID-19 outbreak in Iran becomes increasingly critical, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Hainan Medical University, which played a key role in battling the virus in Hainan, sent a vehicle packed with medical supplies to the consulate general while maintaining strict prevention and control measures in the hospital.

Wang Yi, head of the hospital, said that the epidemic situation in Hainan continues to improve, while the resumption of work and production has been accelerating.
The hospital's last confirmed case was discharged on March 10 and all its COVID-19 patients have recovered, while no death cases have been reported. Additionally, no infection of medical workers and complaints were reported at the hospital, added Wang.
He expressed hope that the medical supplies would help Iranians better fight the virus.
