Today, the documentary "2026: Towards the Hainan Free Trade Port" airs during prime time on Bernama TV and across Bernama's new media matrix, and is also available on all platforms of HIMC.
In July, a Bernama reporting team traveled to Hainan, visiting Yangpu Port, Sanya's international yacht industry, Boao Lecheng Medical Pilot Zone, and multiple enterprises — documenting the real changes since the start of island-wide special customs operations from a Malaysian media perspective. From the synergy potential between Yangpu Port and Port Klang, to the benefits of "two-ends-out" processing and export businesses, the policy dividends of tariff exemption for products with no less than 30 percent added value after processing, and the pathways for Boao's high-end medical tourism services to reach the high-end Southeast Asian market — the 30-minute film captures the vast opportunities for ASEAN businesses looking to enter the Chinese mainland market.
This is another deep collaboration between Bernama and Hainan International Media Center. The documentary sends a clear signal: ASEAN companies should actively move towards the Hainan Free Trade Port, establish a presence in the Chinese market, and seize the early opportunities.
