
Haikou is holding several special events in celebration of the 2026 Lantern Festival, which falls on March 3rd this year. Events include a Lantern Festival market, a drone show, a fireworks display, and lots of special discounts.
A Lantern Festival themed market will be held at Century Park from 10 AM to 10:30 PM on Mar. 3rd, with several popular local food and beverage companies, high-end real estate projects, professional financial institutions, and telecommunications providers on hand to offer a variety of convenient services in one place. Attendees are sure to enjoy shopping and service opportunities as well as the festive holiday atmosphere.
A spectacular drone show is scheduled for 8:45 - 9:00 PM on Mar. 3rd in the skies above Evergreen Park, thrilling viewers through the latest advances in high-end technology.
This year’s highly anticipated Lantern Festival fireworks show will take place at the Meiyuan Yacht Marina from 9:00 to 9:20 PM. Around 2,760 aerial shells ranging in size up to a #12 diameter shell will launch a total of approximately 33,931 total fireworks. The public is invited to enjoy the show free of charge at several viewing locations including the Haikou Bay entertainment area, Haikou FUNBAY Zizaiwan Street, the Evergreen Park coastal area, HCC Plaza, Sky Mountain, and Poly Central Coast. Any weather-related delays or other changes to the scheduled fireworks display will be announced through official platforms such as the Haikou Release (海口发布) official WeChat account.
